Mel is one of the most wonderful humans we have ever met and we are so grateful that we found her.
Well, that’s a rather lovely way to begin a review. I am trying to play it cool about it, obviously. Failing quite badly.
From the first video call Mel made us feel completely relaxed with her warm smile and bubbly personality. She made the entire process so easy with fantastic communication throughout.
That first conversation matters, I think. You don’t need to know exactly what you want your ceremony to look like before you get in touch with me. You don’t need to have all the answers, know which traditions you want, or have already written your vows on a beautifully scented piece of parchment.
We can start with a chat.
And then we can work it out together.
Mel completely embraced our chaotic life and the ceremony that she created told our story perfectly and captured our love for each other and our children beautifully.
Ah, the chaos.
But this is exactly what I mean when I say I want to get to know the real you.
Not the polished, wedding ready version. Not the version of your relationship that could be neatly summed up in a few romantic sentences.
Real life can be busy, noisy, complicated and occasionally a little chaotic. Especially when children are part of the story too.
And if that’s your life, then that’s part of the story I’m getting to know.
Following the ceremony one of our guests asked if we knew Mel personally as the ceremony was so perfectly personal.
This is one of those comments that I never get tired of hearing.
Because no, we hadn’t known each other for years. We hadn’t grown up together or shared family holidays. We simply spent time talking, laughing, answering questions and getting to know one another.
And somewhere along the way, I learned how Laura and Dave’s little family fitted together, what mattered to them and how they were together.
That’s the bit I take to the front with me.
Mel is a wonderfully talented lady who is an absolute joy to be around and it was our privilege and pleasure to have her as our celebrant x
